"A year ago I wrote the following review. It remains true today. Dominique is a convivial host and takes pride in running what is the best B&B I have ever stayed at; beautifully appointed with all workmanship to the highest standard. My son and I arrived at the impeccable clean and tidy property that is La Coulonnière by motorcycle, like two drowned rats in appalling wet weather, yet were welcomed with open arms. An object lesson in how to make your guests comfortable was topped off after showers and changes of clothes with a few complementary glasses of red wine and great conversation. Breakfast was excellent; proudly local produce and fresher than fresh."

A recommendation though is to eat before evening arrival - or take food to eat on the terrace or in the bedroom (for which there is a table and chairs and Dominique will provide cutlery and crockery). A beauty of the place is that it is peacefully in the middle of nowhere - but a downside is therefore that there are no shops or restaurants nearby."

"We had a lovely overnight stay at La Coulonniere, the house is very convenient for travelling to and from the ferry port and tunnel, just 35 mins away. The house and gardens are beautiful and situated in a peaceful position on the edge of the village. Dominique and his wife are delightful and we’re very welcoming, we were offered drinks on arrival and they were very accommodating with any requests. The breakfast was very good using all local produce and fresh eggs from the own chickens. The breakfast table was set as if we were in a five star hotel! Our room was very spacious, clean and very well appointed, everything has been done to a high standard. The whole e property is very interesting, the owners have some amazing furniture and collections. We highly recommend this B and B and we hope to return soon. Many thanks."
